PETA eats their young. Or your young, whichever's handy...

sorry to post and bail…

of course activistcash and their parent site consumerfreedom have an agenda…everyone does.

As far as the seeing eye dog bit…after I was partially called out on it,I started searching the web and really cant find a direct quote to that affect, what I did find is a article about an interview newkirk did with new yorker magazine from april this year, the article atributes the seeing eye dog stance to her from that interview. alas I cant find that new yorker article online.

as for HSUS…theres plenty of dirt out there on them also, search for yourself or check out some of the links below

This guy has killed more animals than mommy. But he has more lawyers than mommy, so we leave him alone:

Wow did I fall behind …timing of my last post is WAY off.

Of course, the bias at PETA’s website is obvious.

Your link on HSUS is out-of-date or false; HSUS now has two stars from chairty navigator. Your link on “more” is the same as your link on HSUS. And your link on “and more” is flimsy and difficult to verify.

On the last: note that it’s hardly on an unbiased website, that their two links verifying the story are both broken, and that HSUS did participate in the meeting after all. Therefore, claiming they were “denied credentials” is highly misleading: it should say they were “given credentials after an initial denial.”

Here’s what I can find on this case:
CITES finds HSUS’s allegations unfounded. That’s significant, not the only mention of HSUS on their website:

This Word Document states that

On This PDF, we learn that HSUS made a $5,000.00 donation toward the Seventeenth Meeting of the Animals Committee in Hanoi, Vietnam.

And then – aHAH! – we find at last a mention of the problem, in PDF format!

So what do we have here? HSUS made some allegations against countries that they couldn’t or wouldn’t back up; they were chastised for it; and everyone moved on. Exccept for anti-animal-welfare groups like the one you cited above.

Attack PETA, sure. But HSUS is a sterling organization.

The Face, if it’s any consolation, my last post is way out of date, too; I should’ve mentioned it was directed at your post, the fiftieth (?) response to this thread. And Dag, if you think PETA leaves McDonald’s alone, May I suggest some light reading?

Daniel

Uh, don’t mind me, folks. I’m just sitting here wasting air.

(I was pretty sure that I was wrong a few minutes after I posted. I decided that I would just not visit this thread and forget about it. Of course, I had to take a peek…)

No problem, Dag; if your overall point was that PETA is a bunch of obnoxious jerks, you’ll get no disagreement from me. I was just quibbling with you over the specifics of HOW’re they’re jerks :).

Their McDonald’s campaign demonstrates their sensitivity toward children yet again. On the other hand, ever since seeing pictures of those awesome bloody Ronald McDonald dolls they made, I’ve kinda wanted one for myself.

Daniel

A link I found while looking at some others. Looks to me like nothing more than trust fund rebels. I used to run into these types in Washington D.C. all the time.

Well since PETA, ALF, and ELF all view humans as such a horrible plague on Earths face, maybe they should lead by example, and go for a Darwin award!

Seen on a bumper sticker this morning:

PETA
People Eating Tasty Animals

Gosh, that means I’m a member too! Who knew?

Actually, it had me laughing minutes later… just had to share.

Hm.

At the “Unhappy Meal” link, they say the average American child eats five hamburgers a week.

Hell, MY kid was lucky to get five hamburgers a MONTH.

Therefore, if this figure is accurate, there are children out there literally eating hamburgers for nearly every meal.

Yeah, I’d say that’s cause for alarm… even if you’re NOT a cowhugger…

:: trying to catch up ::

Did any of you scroll way down on the activistcash.com page to the descriptions of various PETA honchos? I found this description of one PETA activist that is, shall we say, revealing.

And here I am… a horrid little animal abuser who has taken in countless stray, cats, dogs and yes rabbits. Kept them fed, warm and healthy. Little did I know that the proper thing to do with them was to take them up the canyon and released into the wild… thereby providing meals on wheels for the native critters up there.
And I am with the ones that say “toucha ma kid and pick yer teeth outta the wall”

Cruel person! Think of the coyotes that have died horrible deaths from starvation because you have willfully deprived them of their natural diet of homeless cats and small, fuzzy, white dogs[sup]1[/sup]. Shame, shame; off to the re-education camps with you

[sup]1[/sup]At least, I’ve always supposed that that was the evolutionary purpose of small, fuzzy, white dogs. Theologically, we could advance the hypothesis that they exist to allow me to atone for sins committed in previous lives…

Were you trying to link to Kayla Rae Worden? She’s a local here in Asheville, quite the publicity whore. I suspect KellyM et al wince quietly whenever Kayla Rae strips for the bunnies; she’s really not the poster child for stable, sane transsexuals.

Daniel

Uh, what?

I may be totally off-base here. But in the same way that I wince quietly when I see liberals making asses of themselves, I was guessing that you might wince quietly when you see transsexuals making asses of themselves. (Worden is transsexual, and far more fond of showing off her body than she is of showing an ounce of reflection or common sense).

In case there was any confusion, “she” in the quote referred to Worden, not to you, Kelly.

Daniel

Yeah, individuals like her definitely do not put forth the best face for the rest of the world to see.

Is she that “Chicken lady”? I can’t remember the woman’s name, but she apparently has a rescue/reserve of some sort for chickens (and IIRC ducks, turkeys, and other fowl).

One of our local morning radio shows (with the adolescent male DJs, you know the type), was interviewing her by telephone for their show.

Her premise was that they are beautiful birds and they deserve their quality of life (etc), when asked if she was on a sinking ship and had the chance to save either a child, or a chicken, she answered (I’m not kidding), “it would depend on the child”.

Some guy called up and was asking her all sorts of leading questions, as if he were on her side, then he ended by asking if they could meet somewhere to discuss strategies, and finished off by suggesting KFC because He LOOOVES him some fried chicken.

She walked right into it, you had to be there, but OMG it was funny.
