Huh, that’s weird. But the amount of body hair people have varies quite a bit. Myself, I literally have less hair on my chest than she has on her back, and no noticable hair on my back at all. My best friend from high school, though, made Robin Williams look hairless.
Either way I doubt that will be the factor on which the movie sinks or swims.
I am gonna boycott (until it is free on cable) due to the fact they didn’t hire and give jobs to seven “little people” or whatever is the current best term.
Do white women have less hair than women with other skin colors? That would surprise me.
The may be some people who avoid it due to racism, but i doubt that will be related to the actress having some peach fuzz.
As for me, I’m probably not going to see the movie because i never liked the original that much, and unless it gets super reviews, i can’t imagine I’d enjoy the remake, either.
Nor have i, but i am pretty close to hairless. I used to have some thin hair on my arms and legs, but the last time i wanted to test the blade on my working knife, i couldn’t find enough hair to try to shave. I’ve never had hair on my back or chest. Not even fuzz. My son’s ex had no fuzz, either, at least on parts that show while wearing a bathing suit. She was Black.
People may be upset that the actress has fuzz. But i think that’s a different hangup than being upset that she’s not white.
Also, i think it’s become fashionable for models and actresses to wax.
Maybe she’s symbolically white . Anyway, they’re no actual white people anyway, unless you count mimes. And clowns. And albinos. And maybe geisha girls.
Rumplestilkskin is typically described as a dwarf; I think this might not have been in the writing by the Grimms, but in a lot of other versions and translations, it is.
We had this book as kids, featuring an unpleasant dwarf and also a different Snow White:
Ah well I was hoping that would embed. It’s called Snow White and Rose Red, and the cover shows them encountering an angry dwarf with his beard caught in a log. (Somewhat reminiscent of Runplestiltskin).
Well, my wife is nordic and is pretty damn white- with maybe a little pink (she cant tan, just a few freckles) . But Snow white had black hair- not blonde . So, she wasnt that pale nordic type anyway. And most black people arent black colored either!
I just watched a review of the movie saying there’s both 7 Dwarves and also 7 Bandits characters so the 7 Bandits might have been the characters seen in the above news story.
Also the review brings up that the 7 Bandits characters seem completely unnecessary and may have been the original vision for the film before Disney panicked and added the actual 7 Dwarves due to bad press, which tied into what we’ve already been talking about Disney changing it at some point.
