Peter Graves, RIP

Peter Graves dies of heart attack at 83

This was noted earlier in the Dead Pool , but I think his passing is worthy of a separate thread.

Damn. He was great. Iconic, even. I’ll never forget his voice, or his excellent deadpan comic timing.

“Do you like movies about gladiators, Tommy?”

:frowning: I liked him.

I was a big fan of the Mission Impossible TV series. Peter Graves always did a good job in his role.

Kind of sad that his older brother, James Arness outlived him. He’s three years older than Peter.

I don’t think they ever appeared together in anything.

Captain Oveur is over. :frowning:

He’s in the great turkish prison in the sky.

RIP Cap.

Did he die in a big building with Patients?

More importantly, did his body self-destruct in five seconds?

No, but the Secretary did disavow any knowledge of his actions.

That’s so weird - I just saw him today in Men in Black II. First time I’d seen him on screen in forever, and now he’s gone.

Aw, I’m almost though watching MI Season 2. Classy, sharp guy with a fine range.

RIP, Peter.

I can’t say I’m shocked (he was 83), but it still saddens me. I think I’ll put on some tangerine lipgloss in his honor.

I did not know this.

Surely, you can’t be serious.

I am serious.

And don’t call me Shirley.

Roger. :frowning:

A few days ago I saw a rerun of an episode of “Cold Case” which I had missed when it first aired. And of course I had watched the recent TMC showing of “Airplane!”.

As an old guy, I remember him on Saturday mornings as Jim Graves in “Fury” and as Price in Stalag 17

Nitpick: The kid’s name was Joey.

This is very sad news… I’m off to watch Airplane! in his honor. :frowning:

Along with Airplane!, I remember him as one of the hosts of A&E’s Biography
