Peter Gunn's wallpaper

Its a marbled / textured finish, probably applied by hand, possibly what is called a ‘scumble’ finish. Depending on the colour it could be a faux- travertine, or just a lighter-darker’marbled’ colour combo.

The intent seems to have been to not have a solid flat colour backdrop, and the rectangular join lines would have made it look even cheaper.

Thank you so much. I had given up, but I’m glad to see this for two reasons:

  1. I hadn’t given up as much as I thought, and kept wondering about it…
  2. It’s more over-the-top scuzzy faux-something than I’d thought!

Jazz architecture?

That looks to me like a plain cinder-block or concrete-block wall. The dark spots are caused by shadows in the texture of the surface.
