The year was 1980. I was your average kid collecting sports cards and trading them. However, as it was, I was more interested in golf than baseball and now I have a set of PGA Tour cards from 1980. Now, I remember that this was the first time they were made but that’s all. I look at the cards and it doesn’t even say the name of the manufacturer.
I’ve searched Ebay and all the other major auction sites to get an idea of value but nothing turns up. Either they are rare or nobody cares. Any ideas where I can figure out an approximate selling price (if I could find a buyer that is…)? Or even who made them - the earliest I can see on the internet is 1990.
Thanks!
Even if I had a signature, I doubt I’d have room for it.
See if any of these will help: itsallsports PGA ProTour (which has a trading card section, but I think the URL for it may be too long to link. Just click on “Trading Cards”) eBay Listings of golf trading cards You said you checked eBay, but this came up in a websearch and perhaps there are new listings since you checked, so I included it anyway. Tucson Trading Cards
Damn, I just found 2 that looked promising (
CityAuction - PGA GOLF TOUR SETS 1981 AND 1980 and Southern Golf Journal Collectibles 1987 PGA TOUR TRADING CARDS) but one got a 404 Page not found and one got an error page from the site “We weren’t able to find the page you asked for”. If you want to check the sites to see if they have other possibilities (and they aren’t ones you’ve already checked): http://www.cityauction.com and http://www.southerngolf.com.
And here’s the last one that looks like it might be helpful: [url=http://www.traditiongolf.com/players/trading_cards/jack_nicklaus.html]trading cards[/url}
