Are the terms “philharmonic”, “symphony”, and “orchestra” synonymous, or are there technical differences?
Philharmonic: either composing an orchestral group, or devoted to/appreciative of music.
Symphony Orchestra: a large orchestra, can perform symphonies.
I’d say yes, there was an overlap in meaning, here.
