Philip Humber of the White Sox throws a perfect game!

I think Humber should buy that ump a case of champaign or something. Total gift call - not that I’m that upset about it, but when that last pitch was thrown I was up on my feet, not believing that he friggin’ walked the last batter!

You could see it on Humber’s face when he threw it too. Right off he had the, “I can’t believe I fucked it up on the last pitch” look, which turned on a dime to, “THROW IT TO FIRST, THROW IT TO FIRST! THROW IT TO FIRST!”

It would have been just a little more perfect without a dropped third strike, but it was still exciting to watch that last inning.

Still bitter about Milt Pappas, are we?

Phil Humber is probably the second least-accomplished pitcher ever to pitch a perfect game. The most least-accompished, Charlie Robertson (his second major league win, in 1922, en route to a career record of 49-80), also pitched for the White Sox.
