Philly Dopers: Photography at Franklin Institute?

I’m going to see Tut tomorrow and can’t find anything on the F.I. web site about whether they allow photography in the exhibits.

Does anybody know?

I’ve taken many pictures in the regular museum – sometimes there are more restrictive rules for special exhibits though.

Here’s their website: http://www2.fi.edu/
Enjoy the museum! It’s a wonderful place to go!

Thanks–as the OP says I had scoured their web site and no mention of photography. Their phone line was a maze of push this, push that. I figured “speak to a museum staff member” was a good bet but then you need to know the extension you’re calling. . . .

Just for the record, I brought my equipment with me, and unlike the Smithsonian museums and most other places in DC, there was no metal detector, no bag check whatsoever. Photography is allowed throughout the museum, except for the Tut exhibit there is no photography at all allowed.

Pretty good exhibit, by the way, although it did not include the most famous piece, the funerary mask. Aside from the pieces themselves, the design of the exhibit was splendid, with huge effort gone into the lighting.
