Philosophical Q: Why Is God Slow to Act?

Others: Have you ever wondered about the following…
Why do you think is God is so slow to punish those who do bad things? Ok, the little stuff can be oveerlooked for none of us are perfect. But bigger stuff? if you don’t discipline your kids in a timely manner, the lesson is lost.

So, is there any philisoophical thoughts why God let’s his kids run amuk? Sure, you think your little straying from the path doesn’t hurt anyone, but there are no victimless crimes. So, where is God to protect the innocent ones?

Personally, I do not believe that God relates to us in that way any longer, if He ever did. In other words there is not supposed to be a spanking for every misdeed. Jesus Christ ushered in a new way or worshipping God “in spirit and in truth”, where God relates to us as a guide rather than a disciplinarian.
