Phish: Performing Talking Heads "Remain in Light" Live

I’m not the biggest Phish fan in the world (I’m the biggest Talking Heads fan in the world  ), but after hearing their version of “The Great Curve” here, I’m dying to hear more. Wow, it’s just a fantastic version of that song!

A friend of mine said that she heard that Phish has performed the entire “Remain in Light” album live! Please say this is true! If so, where can I find it? I searched the net with no luck.

Thanks

It appears Disc 3 of this album is the entire RinL album.

It is indeed true. I was there. It was the Halloween show of '96 I believe, down in Atlanta. A great time was had by all IIRC. Ahh, Phish I’ll miss ya!

I don’t have a copy of it but I know a few people who probably do. Email me if you want and I’ll see if I can get you a copy (but please don’t count on it).

I never knew they released it commercially. But then again I know little about Phish post 1998ish.

Thanks guys

So I take it’s not available as .mp3’s anywhere?

I’m curious, has Phish performed any other non-Phish albums in there entirety live?

They did the Beatles White Album and the Who’s Quadrophenia as well…

And the Velvet Underground’s Loaded. Not being a Phish fan, I just learned a month or two ago that these were all available commercially, and I immediately ordered the White Album and Quadrophenia shows, having always been curious to hear them. Odd that they get practically all the way through the White Album and then skip the very last song, “Goodnight.”

Wow, really!!? Awesome!

So none of these are available anywhere on the NET for listening? I’m looking to download .MP3’s of these concerts. I just want to hear the audio via Windows Media player and/or Real Audio, similiar to link I gave in the OP for “The Great Curve”.

I can’t buy the commercial releases. My wife would kill me.

Anywhere? Anywhere?

Crap. That should read: I’m NOT looking to download .MP3’s of these concerts.

:smack:

To they do the 15-min. “Revolution No.9”?

I was kinda disappointed by how they handle “Revolution 9” (which is more like 8 minutes in the original version, IIRC). They don’t really try to replicate any of the musical loops. They basically just make vocal “whoosh” noises and shout various spoken lines from the piece in silly and exaggerated voices.

neat version (the vocals are uncanny), but it makes me miss the Robert Fripp lead on the original.

I thought it was Adrian Belew.

It’s Belew who’s all over “remain in light” (and my favorite) “Fear of music.”

Ouch. You guys are right. Fripp was on Fear of Music. My mistake.
