When I said that alluding to additional “lapses” without proving or even naming them was unfair, less than honest, melodramatic and world-class creepy, it was not meant to imply that I wanted to see more of the same dreck contained in the OP a hundred and fifty posts later. It was simply one of the reasons I gave for rejecting the pitting altogether. Frankly, I wouldn’t give additional allegations much attention, given that you haven’t deigned to defend the one you’ve made. At this point, I am strongly biased in favor of Phlosphr simply on account of your conduct in this thread, by which I mean I would defend him short of absolute proof that he had intentionally broken rules in order to cause tangible harm to someone, and I’d want to hear directly from the someone first.
According to what you’ve told us on this board, you’re an admirable, even heroic, person. Your given history suggests that you know who the real bad guys in the world are, and that you can stand up to them. This campaign, regardless of its (so far negligible) merit, isn’t worthy of you, and you should know it. That door I mentioned is still open, and if you walk through it on your own, on the other side is a community of people most of whom will still welcome and respect you.
Anyone want to take bets on the likelihood that Zoe will now come up with something along the lines of “I was E-mailed by a mod asking me not to share my evidence. I won’t say what mod, though. But you’ll just have to take my word for it.”

We looked over the information you provided, Zoe. Yeah, there are some fairly strong inconsistencies in what Phlosphr has posted over the years but nothing that’s been particularly central of his, for lack of a better term, board persona. IOW, he hasn’t initiated threads or interjected himself into existing threads as a one-trick-pony.
We have no idea of who or what any poster actually is in real life. Neither do you or anyone else. We just don’t believe it’s all that relevant. This is a message board, with all the basic anonymity that goes along with that. Caveat emptor applies. Strongly. Just as inconsistencies may not invalidate everything a poster has written, neither should anything here be used for anything more than general information and entertainment.
We have no means or desire to know Phlospr’s credentials. If you disagree with him on psychological issues, then offer your counter-opinions in the threads where they occur. Attack the information given, not the poster. Maybe his advice is lousy–or maybe it just represents a different viewpoint within the field. We’ll watch with a closer eye but there’s far too little evidence of board misbehavior to take any action whatsoever against him, based on the documentation you provided us.

Well, if a moderator had also chimed in saying there were serious inconsistencies in my story, I would have wanted a chance to get it in the open and defend myself, rather than constantly have people snipe “Even TVeblen thinks he’s a liar!” Obviously, that choice is Phlosphr’s, not ours. Yeah, let’s burn the witchhunts.
I did not say Phlsosphr was a liar, Ilsa_Lund. Did you miss the fact that this thread was pitting him for inconsistencies in his posting record? He hasn’t responded in yet in all these pages, so he’s hardly been denied anything save a careful reveiw-on-demand that came out in his favor.
Yeah, the documentation here and provided to the mods show some inconsistencies. Plenty of posters have already discussed in some depth how and why inconsistencies might come about, and how much they should weigh in the grand scale of things.
I granted that pretty obvious inconsistencies exist. Anybody who read this ugly trainwreck of a thread picked up on that one already. The view of the staff, which I share, is that those inconsistencies aren’t anything that warrant rebuke or warning.
Don’t put words or implications onto me. And you might stop stirring the pot while you’re at it.

You misinterpret me. My point was that people on a witchhunt bent could interpret what you said as “TVeblen called him a liar!” I wasn’t implying that you did, or even that I thought you did. I am not trying to stir the pot. Let this whole business die a quick death.

I would be curious, just to see what the whole fuss is about and why Zoe is acting so out of character (from what I’ve seen of her).
I’m one of millions who taught or teach in inner-city high schools. My experiences are not uncommon.
As for my contributions to this pitting, I won’t comment further on the details. I pitted his lapses in integrity and a moderator agrees that there have been strong inconsistencies.
As I’ve said before, I’ve had no stake in whatever decision the staff made about the information I provided.

Inconsistencies do not equal lapses in integrity. People have just spent 4 pages explaining you that, including the mods.
