Phone text questions

Calling all techno-youngn’s.

Is there an easy (non-buying computer parts) way to download or copy texts one receives on a cell phone to one’s computer?

I have a little cheapo not-quite-smart-phone, brand name Samsung, model Intensity II. I’ve googled it, and have not had any luck finding an answer.

I have several hundred texts I need to download to a computer, so I can’t really afford to email them (I don’t have that complete of a phone package, so it would cost per email), nor do I have the time.

Any suggestions?

Does Samsung New PC Studio allow this?

According to Samsung, it’s not possible:

I don’t know enough about phones to tell you if you could use a SIM-to-USB converter to get them off though.

Thanks, I think we actually have one of those.

Get a free Google phone number and route all your texts there.

I use Google Voice for some things, and the inconvenient thing about it is that when people text you, if you reply from your phone, it comes from your regular phone number. They’ve released an app for iPhone, at least, that takes care of the problem for me.

2 ideas:

If Samsung is correct and your texzt messages are saved to your sim card, some USB universal memory card readers have a sim slot. You may be able to find the file and view it.

Also, check out a program called BitPim. I haven’t used it in several years, but it allows you to view, edit and move lots of things on your phone.

Hope these help.

I don’t know if it depends on your texting plan or your carrier, but you may be able to forward the texts to your email address. I use that feature to get the pictures I take with my camera phone.
