Photo I was too lazy to upload #2728

I’ve previously mentioned my unfortunate lion experience of two summers ago, but there’s a lot to tell, and I haven’t mentioned everything. Well, here’s another part of that crazy tale.

Ta-dah! My favorite T-shirt!

The story (you’re dying to hear this, aren’t you?): so, the day after Lungile the Lion uses my leg as a chew toy, the staff at the lion place hold a meeting with my family. To show how really very sorry they are, they give my family… free t-shirts. At least one of my brothers got a cap, too.

Before I go any further, I’d like to explain something. I am not one of those people who show their mettle under pressure and do amazing heartwarming things with their inner reserve of strength. I am the person who curls up in the corner and cries hysterically until every thing’s over. I still don’t understand how I became all manically cheerful jokey for the next two weeks. Maybe the stress endorphins did something to my brain. Anyway, just want to let you know that I’m not usually this cool.

Right, so for some reason I was the laughter type of hysterical rather than the crying type of hysterical from just about the moment I woke up from surgery. (Actually, when I was being carried to the ambulance I quoted Monty Python, but I dunno if that was the endorphins or just recognizing the moment. I mean, when Og hands you the perfect set-up for “It’s just a flesh wound” on a silver platter, you take it, in between screams). Naturally, when I heard about the free tees, I knew I had to make an “…all I got was this stupid t-shirt” joke.

The World Procrastination Olympics committee is currently debating giving me a gold medal in Putting Things Off (they keep saying they’ll decide tomorrow): The Shirt was given to my family the day after I was bitten. I was told I had a new tacky tourist souvenir around the same time. I immediately made up my mind to paint the words. Last spring, I actually bought the paint and did some decorating. Last week, I uploaded the picture. Right now, I am finally writing the post I conceived a week ago. Thank you, I’ll be accepting my prize after I get a few things done.

That’s great!

and a scar on my leg.

They will ask for proof.

Who’s they?
