Having just read Guns, Germs and Steel, I was wondering if there are any websites with good pictures of different ethnic groups in the world today. I’m especially interested in the Ainu, but the Wikipedia article just showed some black and white photos. Are there any good color photos available?
A google image search of ‘ainu’ brings up some examples.
Try googling anthropology websites. Seems to me that would be the most likely place to find what you’re looking for.
This page has color pictures of three Ainu (and a bear for comparison). This page has a picture of a very attractive Anglo-Columbian at the top but if you scroll down there’s also a picture of an Ainu. This German page has yet another picture of an Ainu. And by the time you view the picutre on this page, you’re starting to wonder if there any young Ainu men.
