Photos of family on desk at work- why?

Sometimes people use pictures like that as a motivator to keep eating right, working out, etc.?? It does seem inappropriate to have it on display in the workplace.

You and me both. Except that I know there’s something (probably multiple things) wrong with me.

The only thing on my desk I would take if I was fired/layed off/flamed out and quit making a dramatic exit is my coffee mug. It’s one of those great travel ones from Dave and Busters that holds like 2 1/2 regular size cups of coffee…I love that thing.

I have a photo of my wife on my desk because she is the best thing that ever happened to me, and everytime I look at that photo, I remember that fact.

Some days it makes me happy, some days meditative, some days fulfilled. I don’t know how I survived without her before I met her. Looking at her picture reminds me I don’t have to again.

After I have faced death, disaster, failure or whatever the world throws at me, all I have to do is look at her photo and see that there is a reason for taking the next step.

I personally love going to art galleries and the like and will watch a bad old movie just to look at the retro clothes, architecture, furniture, cars, etc. And have a wee-un I can sit at look at, in person, for hours. But don’t get the pictures thing at work, and have none displayed at home either. Now I can and will think of people mentally many times a day, but am just not into pictures. And yes, I know I’m odd-I agreed with the post that people who go to movies on holidays are selfish a-holes

Also, I think part of it is that I am really sentimental, and looking at pictures, even happy pictures, makes me sad becasue I then think, where has all the time gone, we are all getting older and gonna die soon, etc.

Dude…I just called the paramedics for some insulin.

(only kidding…I love LOVE)

What’s really silly is that we’ve been married for 20 years.
