Phrases you'd NEVER thought you'd hear...

Jeez, I think he’s hotter than ever…

Can’t he be both, like the late Earl Warren?

“If it weren’t for my horse, I would’nt have spent that year in College”

Fat quarters are a VERY popular items in quilt stores, an 18"x22" piece of fabric of which it’s hard not to buy every one. So, it’s supposed to mean the wearer loves to quilt. Not quite congruous with a thong.

Earl Warren wasn’t a stripper!

While I’m sure Gigi’s correct that it’s a quilting thing, my first thought was a totally different meaning of “quarter” which I’m sure you, fetus, might be, hypothetically, familiar with. A “fat quarter” would be a generously weighed baggie, of course.

But, then again, most people looking for fat quarters of that kind aren’t all that keen on WORK, so I remained bewildered.

When I opened this thread yesterday, I was really surprised because I thought that everyone pretty much understood that Peter Falk was cute as Columbo. Certainly when me and my best friend were eight it was the highlight of our week to get together to watch the show and giggle over him. I didn’t post yesterday, but when I saw the thread title again today I thought, "Wait…what was that thread…oh yeah, it’s the ‘Peter Falk is adorable’ thread.

All those suspects that Columbo dealt with were huge weenies. I would have liked to see him try that “Just one more thing” shtick with Tony Montana (Al Pacino in Scarface) or Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci in Goodfellas).

Columbo: “I found this carnation on the crime scene - did it not come from your lapel, as seen on these photos from the nightclub: photo 1 shows you with a carnation at 8:20, photo 2 shows you with no carnation at 8:55!”

Murderer: “Fuck you copper!” bang bang bang “Ok, who’s up for shrimp scampi at Luigi’s? We’ll drop him off in the river on the way”

Ooh, I would love to see this. Sounds ripe for a Family Guy-esque spoof.

I just googled “Columbo.” I guess I was confusing him with Maaaatlock. He is pretty hot, I must admit. (He’d be no match for the likes of Tony, Paulie or Chris, but still.)

Ah, the infamous $25 special.

Of course, for some people, weighing baggies IS their job.

Quilters exist in an alternate universe where illicit things are perfectly innocent. For example, finger cots are sold for use when machine quilting, or hand sewing, to be able to get a better grip on the fabric or needle.

I like “COLOMBO” too-but face it-the show is VERY old! Was it a big hit when new? Peter Falk has aged well-but he doesn’t have the edgy humor that made “Colombo” a hit. Most detective shows don’t last too long-actualy, I’d be surprised if a 20-something knew anything about the show.
