Physically challenged Barbie

Was there ever a Barbie (or friend) in a wheelchair?

Meet Becky.

That is AWESOME!!!

There are more versions of this doll - Amazon carries two others.

Unfortunately, Mattel forgot to make Barbie’s Dream House wheelchair accessible.

[OT] I can’t believe there’s an article out there that actually cites Yahoo! Answers as a serious source. What is the world coming to[/ot]

Don’t forget “Abusive Caretaker Ken”.

Few private homes are wheelchair accessible, methinks.

More than you would think …

I can drive through a residential area and see ramps at many homes. On my rural road are roughly 50 homes in a roughly 10 mile length [my roomie did census this year, I could ask her for the actual count] and there are 7 other houses that have visible ramps. There could be more accessible houses where the ramps are not visible. My ramp will not be visible from the road when we finish it this spring.

True enough. I still don’t think it’s the majority. It’s something people only do when they have specific occasion to, and not always then. During the last years of my mother’s life she often had to use a wheelchair, but my father never used a ramp.

Hey, those weird skinny legs are actually believable on her. And maybe the giant breasts and weird waist and neck are what made her have an accident in the first place!
