Funny, I thought it just meant he’d grow up and resume his full name of Barack.
Political considerations aside, Barry seems to me an adequately beaglish name.

Next time I get to name a beagle (and I hope it’s a long time from now!), I’m going to name him Baxter. I wanted to name Buddy Baxter but the girls wouldn’t hear of it.
Hmm. I see Buddy as beaglish, but Baxter as more of a Boston Terrier type. YMM (and obviously does) V.
Puppy!
He’s such a cutie and wants to romp, as puppies are won’t to do. Nordberg wagged her tail for a little bit, too. I think they’re both trying to be submissive, which is interesting.
We forgot the camera, so no pictures. However, we shall bring the camera and get cute puppy pics promptly!
Also, Boris, the cat, had a very predictable, puffy-tailed response to a poky puppy.
Apparently he made it to 7 months without food. He is eating everything he can find. He has been crawling under tables to find old dog food morsels . He has sniffed out every square inch of the basement. He is digging dog food nuggets from under couches, and bean bags and everyplace.
Nordberg wants a break. She does not have the puppy energy to deal with him non stop.
We DEMAND pictures ASAP.
Poor Nordberg.
You’ll have to get them tomorrow. The parents’ camera is dead, so we’re bringing one over tomorrow.
Congrats on the new puppy! I like “Winston” for a beagle name. Beagles are solid little beasts. I’m sure Nordberg will love her new friend when she gets used to him. Lucky little puppy!
He will be hard to housebreak. He was running around the yard with a squeeky toy . Then got a funny look on his face ,took a dump in 2 seconds and was off and running again. No chance to give him encouragement.
That is so funny…I have a female beagle/collie mix named Macy. When we first got her, we literally forgot to flip her over and check out her equipment to determine the dog’s sex. She just looked like a male puppy, so we named her Baxter, until we made our momentous discovery.
Beagles are a trying breed to own in my opinion. Macy barks and bays when the freaking wind blows, or when she sees blades of grass moving, or…whenever, and by whenever I mean all the time.
She’s prone to running off, too. Apparently being shocked by the invisible fence isn’t enough to deter her meanderings when she gets a hankering to put her nose to work.
Edit: Name him Millhouse.
Beagles are walking noses. The nose trumps all, electric shocks be damned.
I kinda like “Milhouse”.
I do too. Millhouse.
LOUNE, it sounds like ASAP is tomorrow. Nothing wrong with that.
I must say, I don’t envy you folks the housetraining or the puppy energy. But the deathly cuteness is definitely enviable.
A beagle body is just a device to carry a nose. Beagles are stubborn and willful. They don’t ignore you because they don’t care but squirrels just have to be bitten. Scents have to be followed. They have to. If you want to show dominance over an animal ,don’t buy a beagle.
My beagle that died was a great watch dog. He was very alert and knew when people were walking past the house or coming too close. I trusted him. Nord just went along. I don’t know if she will be good . New dog (Papshmir) will ahve to prove himself. But he provided Nordberg with a months worth of exercise today.
Poor Nordberg, run into the ground by a pup! g
I don’t have the energy or the time for a puppy, but I would be more than happy to come play with yours.
Nord is in bed ,under the covers since 930. She is exhausted.
I watched my 13 month old niece a few weeks ago. I, too, collapsed into bed at 9:30am. So was her tail up?
There was some wagging and fun clearly being had. I think the puppy will be a good thing for all parties involved.
Especially me, because I like to play with puppies.
I think I will call him Drebin.
Puppy pics!
CAn you host the photos somewhere else besides Facebook? I don’t have an account, and I wanna see the baybee puppie…
