Picked up a blue 99 R1 with 4500 miles…several engine mods…even came with dyno sheets:
peak run: 149.1 HP at the rear wheel.
Holy crap its fast.
Anyone else have one?
Or anyone have a GSXR1000 and want to flame me?

149 hp? lets see…thats 2.49 harleys! (but that would make over 1900lbs in motorcycle)
you got cheated!
and remember: when bowling, never throw a strike- you get cheated out of your second ball!
LOL
well, dry weight on an R1 is <400lbs.
I’d sell your sould for a new Yamaha R1.
But right now I don’t have a place to keep it. I love my ‘94 Seca II, and have no intention of ever selling it. I can’t think of a better ride for commuting, and 8 years of ownership with just short of 70,000 miles have proven its worth. But sometimes I feel the need for speed, and the ol’ XJ600 just isn’t powerful enough.
Yamaha are currently developing 2WD with the R1 as the platform. This going to be one of the biggest developments in motorcycling in decades and the next ten years should be pretty interesting. Then again, **JaxBeachBoy[/b[ probably can’t imagine how things could get any more interesting than right now I guess. Congratulations and stay safe.
Damn! Let’s try that again.
I’d sell your soul for a new Yamaha R1.
