I park where It seems the most time efficient. If the spot is close and is available, I’ll take it., but I’m not going to wait unless they have their reverse lights on.
I’ve seen people wait a ridiculous amount of time so they can park close, and I’m always in the store before them even though I parked 10 spaces away. If I’m with somebody I’ll make an “offhand” comment about it as we pass their car just to see if I can get a rise. Most of the time they are oblivious. (I don’t make said comment if the person in the car is old, hugely overweight or waiting for a handicap spot because they need it though).
