Pics of Vermont after Hurricane Irene flooding

OK, so we’ve all seen pictures and video of the flooding in Vermont from Hurricane Irene. Here’s a few pics of what it looks like after the flood water recedes.

At some points while hiking around, I realized I would have been under 20 feet of flood water. Everything that is gray/brown was underwater. And all of the vegetation there is dead now, since it can’t get any sun. Dirt roads are covered in debris, and still muddy weeks later.

Wow! Thanks for sharing these. If you have any shots of ‘civilized’ areas, I’d like to see some of those, too.

pabstist, Is there a listing of damages by county. I used to live in Montgomery, Franklin County and have some old friends and distant relatives who possibly could have been impacted by some flooding. I know Southern Vermont was harder hit than Northern Vermont.
