Wow, Kamchatka is cooler than I realized! I always just thought of it as the single nation in Risk that I would defend to the end.
I wish more of these pictures were labeled, but they’re no less gorgeous for not telling me what I’m seeing.
The photographer (Yann Arthus-Bertrand) is very famous over here. You can find his books of aerial pictures in every bookstore, they are commonly used on postcards, etc…
And I too like what he does.
I just noticed something :
On his site (the link is at the top of the page the OP linked to), you can download for free 2000 of his pictures to use as wallpaper.
ETA : Pictures on his site can be sorted by country, and apparently, each one has a detailed explanation about the place where it was taken.
