Does anyone know a place on the net where i can find pictures of the japanese characters that make up the word “Ichiban” or Number 1?
I have seen a few different ‘‘scripts’’ if you will of Japanese, the one i am looking for kinda looks like this
- t " h
With the bottom of the ‘t’ instead of going right, curves up to the left and crosses over.
And ith the second line in the ‘h’ actually being more of a diagonal line down to the bottom right.
I think it translates like this…
From that description, it sounds like you want “ichi” in kanji and “ban” in hiragana. I doubt you’ll find very many ready-made images with that combination.
You can find a hiragana chart here:

Look for “ba” (10th row) and “n” (15th row).
Another way of writing “ichiban” is in all kanji. If that doesn’t work for you, you could either paste together separate images or install a Japanese font and use it to create your own image. Recent versions of Windows include a font, or you can get several at Japanreference.com.
