This is an old picture of myself and one of my favourite girls at the old computer… I haven’t changed much but she just turned three on Sunday…

No offense waterj2, but ever since I saw the little yellow stick figure guy slicing off his finger with the blade of his father’s lawn mower, along with the warning label reading, “Achtung!!”, I pay attention to German.
There’s something about that language that you can’t ignore.

That is SO true. A friend of mine works for Mercedes Benz. He’s currently in Bejing, but when he still worked in Stuttgart we would meet up occasionally. In one instance, he visisted me in Amsterdam. Being an employee, he could hire a top class Merc for almost nothing, say USD 50 for an entire weekend of 600 SEL. This was exactly the one he took on this occasion. I, of course, wanted to give that mother a go as well. It had one of those GPS satelite gizmos. You could select 25 languages, and 4 programmed voices per language. Naturally, we selected the most bitchy German voice we could find! To us Dutch, German sounds especially domineering. It probably isn’t, but it just SOUNDS that way because our language is much softer, albeit somewhat similar as well.
So there I am, cruising in a 600 SEL at 140 km/h on a provincial road, heading to the GPS selected destination, when this bitchy voice all of a sudden comes up:
NACH ZWEIHUNDERT METER RECHTS ABBIEGEN!!
Yes ma’am. Straightaway. Certainly ma’am

I am mostly using that small gray laptop, with the crappiest screen ever, and then, when I get a “need good screen” fit I use that big fat one in the background of the picturre…
So eitherway, most people see my page in a damn annoyning way…
The 404 page is really funny - I cant believe my boss took the time to explain why the none-existant page somebody wanted to access didnt show up…

I talked English all summer cause I spent it in Amsterdam, London and Cambridge - when I went home (unwillingly) I had to change trains somewhere in Germany. First I refused to start speaking German again - but then everybody ran into me and looked grumpy instead of mumbling sorry or something, so I went psycho and started yelling at everybody, kicking the people who stood in my way, telling the girl at the counter who told me there where no more trains to Munich that night she was a slut (which was wrong info as I later found out)
My monologue:
“Geh ma aus m weg du deppade Kuh… verrecktes Mistviech, verrecktes! Zupf di! Schleich di! Weg da du Sau! Trampel depata! Luda verreckts! Schlampe!..”
I refuse to translate any of this.
It has to be saied that I had left all my friends back and was not in the least pleased to go back “home”.
You can virtually say “I love you” in a way that makes it sound like a curse in German.

as i recall, it translates to:

I had the goatee looking pretty good after that, then I screwed up while trimming it, and shaved the whole thing off. Everybody says I should grow it back. Any comments?

That picture of you is absolutely adorable. Those eyes, they’re so vibrant. They stare at the camera and exude an almost commanding tone, yet seem soft and inviting at the same time. Your nose is prominent, but doesn’t even seem to get in the way. It enhances your face even more. The way you are leaning forward, stretching, yearning to break from the mold and be your own person. Your skin, it looks so soft and fuzzy. No doubt the fur warms you on those cold winter nights. I could go on for hours, detailing your perfection in every shape and form. I could write sonnets about your floppy ears, and epics about your tight, but upturned thin line of a mouth. But I shall stop right here.
Oh, I do have another question. Who’s that girl in the black tank top and jeans to your left? She’s kinda cute too.
