OK, I give up. I tried, like four times, to add enough stuff at the front so that the spoiler wouldn’t show up in the mouse-over, and nothin’ helped.
I’ll investigate further to see what can be done, but the moral of the story seems to be: make an initial post that’s harmless, then have your second post include the spoiler stuff.
Meanwhile, I’ll also change the thread title.
FWIW, C K Dexter Haven, whatever you did with the "… … …"s semed to work. I moused over earlier, and the spoiler wasn’t revealed.
So, to avoid confusion on my end going forward, “open spoilers” in the thread title means I include the spoiler box, and “spoilers” means I do not?

Although it is a speculation and not a spoiler I am still boxing this.
[spoiler]I think that Bootstrap Bill had plenty of time to drag that damn cannon anywhere he felt like going.
I mean, if magwitch can swim from a prison ship wearing chains, how hard could it be for a zombie to drag a cannon along the sea bed.[/spoiler]

Richards will play Sparrow’s father, Skarsgård plays Bootstrap Bill, Will Turner’s father.

[spoiler]In my personal opinion, Bootstrap Bill spent the years between the opening and end of the movie slowly, painfully dragging his cannon to the nearest shore. Finally, he was almost there-only a few miles to go. For the first time in years, he was close enough to the surface to see a few rays of sunlight. Just … a … little … farther …
Then his son broke the curse, and he drowned.
But, then, I’m a big fan of irony.[/spoiler]

Well, if they were REALLY pissed at him, maybe they were MOTIVATED to sail halfway around the world to deep-six him.

Wouldn’t “open spoilers” be spoilers that are, y’know, out in the open? As in not in boxes?
I hardly think speculation as to actors who might play certain characters would be so amazingly spoilerish that they’d need boxes anyway.

You know, I was going to butt in with all of my nice logical reasons why Bootstrap Bill was probably hopelessly SOL, but I just can’t bring myself to ruin such a perfect bit of irony. Very nice, SCSimmons!
BTW, as for my own ideas about Bootstrap Bill,
I’ve always assumed that Bill just hung around at the bottom of the trench, bored out of his mind, until the curse broke and he drowned.
