I had my pit bull circumcised and de-clawed. I thought this would make everybody happy, but instead everybody got pissed at me. Go figure.

Appearantly, he bites children a lot or something. Mostly, I think he just looks like someone brought thier recently divorced father to a party.
The dogs, on the other hand, are pretty cool if you raise them right. Not like Chows…or Yorkies, the little bastards.

I’m aware of that spelling, but mine is also correct.
About a month ago my 30 lb beagle picked a fight with a pit. The pit was completely non-aggressive, but wanted to sniff an area that my dog had just finished rolling in. My little Ginger took offense and went after the pit. The pit, cute girl named Carolina, was at least twice the size of my dog in height and weight. My wife and I and Carolina’s owner pulled them apart as quick as we could. Ginger ended up with two stitches on the top of her head and two in her neck, and deserved all four for being a butt head. Hopefully she’s learned her lesson.

Your hatred probably has everything to do with the owners and how badly some people train pitbulls. If abused or raised for fighting they can be viscious. Of course the same is true for many human children, but there is rarely a call to euthanize them. I love pitbulls and have owned several. The current one is called Odie. Orginal it was supposed to be Odoacer, but as he is regularly bullied by the housecats, we have altered his name.

The problem is that the ‘rabid” defenders of Pit bulls and the equally crazy phobics are making a smokescreen for the real issue- that ALL dogs of ALL breeds need to be neutered and that breeding should only be allowed to registered and licensed breeders. Too many dogs, too many dog attacks and too many wonderful puppies without a forever home. Stop the madness. *Both sides. *
This means, I’d support a “ban on unlicensed pit bull breeders’ as a means to an end of banning ALL unregistered breeders.
