Pit Bulls (continued)

Maybe you looked like a badger. Dachshunds are nasty little shits that were bred to kill badgers and are pure evil packed in a cylinder with surprisingly large and sharp teeth at one end, but I am not calling for the breed to be banned.

Because I’m skeptical and like Lily you are being evasive. I don’t think your daschund did much harm. A couple of stitches at most , certainly not the “ripping open” of her face.

No harm, no foul. A one second attack each time with no penetration. We are both fortunate it was a daschund and not a pitbull.

It amazes me to think that there are people who cannot make a distinction between a daschund bite and a pitbull mauling/kill. All dogs are not equal.

No, all dogs are not equal, but all dogs should be held to the same standard of basic behavior and that includes not biting.

They are the nastiest little fuckers…my family has had
German shepherd
Vizla/lab
Rotty mix, big
Rotty border collie
Lab mix
Boxer mix
Doberman
Beagle mix
Curly haired smallish terrier mix
Pit bull
And multiple:
cockers
Great danes
Bull mastiffs
Golden retrievers
Collies
Border collie-ish mutts

And one female miniature Dachshund.

By far the most vicious, aggressive, unpleasant, untrainable beast of all was the Dachshund. By miles. Just fucking awful.

And it is only very recently i learned that our experience matches studies on dog aggression.

If it had been any dog larger than the daschund it could have been worse. Why single out pit bulls?

Amen. Nothing gets under my skin like people with little dogs that laugh at and encourage resource guarding aggression. It’s not cute, funny, or remotely alright.

And yes, I can discern the difference in damage between a 5 pound dog and a 45 pound or 95 pound dog. Obviously bigger, more powerful dogs will do more damage when they bite. It doesn’t mean it’s ok for little dogs to bite or snap or be aggressive. NO dog should behave like that. (Exceptions for dogs under serious threat or stress such as that from pain when wounded…)

Not outside the realm of possibility. A 42-year-old vet tech lost inches of her face to a mini Dachshund and needed two plastic surgeries.

You really are a nasty little piece of filth, you know that? It was 37 years ago and I don’t fucking know, since they weren’t my stitches is not evasive you vile cretin, it’s fact. What a despicable person you are.

Dachshunds Are More Aggressive - Dog Aggression Study

*The breed with the highest aggression toward strangers was the Dachshund with 20.6%, Chihuahuas at 16.1%, and the Australian Cattle Dog at 9.6%. …

About 86.5% of dogs showed no signs of aggression to other dogs, which is odd considering one of the biggest myth about “pit dogs” is that they are naturally dog aggressive. Over 2/3 of the Pit Bulls in the study never showed any aggression to other dogs. Dachshunds, on the other hand had 30.3% aggression to dogs, and Jack Russels had 30.8%, making the Dachshund and Jack Russel Terrier the most dog aggressive dogs according to this study.*

So chew on that you festering pustule.

I’ll hop on board the anti-daschund bandwagon when we have news stories of them killing dozens of kids.

Ok, this is driving me nuts.

It’s “dachshund,” (“dachs” + “hund” meaning “badger dog.”) And it’s pronounced something like “docksund” in Englsh.

Here’s the official soundtrack for this thread (from the band Pitbull Daycare).

What if the news isn’t reporting the dachshund killings?

How do we know the deaths reported as pit bull attacks weren’t actually dachshund mixes?

Where are the news stories of “pits bulls” killing “dozens of kids” per year?

Apparently the news isn’t reporting the “dozens” killed by bullies, either.

Think I may need to have my sight checked again as I don’t see the “per year” anywhere in DA’s post.

Carried over from post 579.

What is being claimed is dozens of kids a year are chewed to death by pit bulls.

Pit bull fight!

I see. I can live with the danger that daschunds pose, what’s a face here and there, as I do wish to preserve the breed.

Over 2/3 of the Pit Bulls in the study never showed any aggression to other dogs

That can translate to 33.3% of Pit Bulls had signs of aggression towards other dogs, which is higher than 30.8 % and 30.3 % for Jack Russels and Daschunds.

Sort of contradicts the conclusion or at the very least reveals an agenda driven study.
