Maybe it’s a good thing we’re scattered around the world. Makes it harder to track each other down. And yet…every Dopefest seems to be peaceful, even among those who snipe at each other in the Pit. Maybe we are special. 
Wow, it’s a long way from “taking exception” to someone and showing up with a pickaxe and machete!
I hear “take exception to” in the Comic Book Guy voice.
Forget all this “felching” business. My new pit insult is going to be, “You interfere with children!”

Wow, a 2-1/2 year long Friday. How come weekends are never 2-1/2 years long?

It isn’t - it’s a Britishism Struan - you and I say “jailed for 2 1/2 years on Friday” when Americans would say “jailed for 2 1/2 years Friday” … seems to have confused Merhouse.
Rather, we would say that he was sentenced to jail for 2 1/2 years on Friday.
“2 1/2 Years Friday” sounds like the accused is being sentenced to suffer a Friday over and over again for 2 1/2 years, a la Groundhog Day, IMO… 
I didn’t see anything wrong with the way the linked article phrased it, FWIW.
