Well, ok. I think that the Moderation on this was crap, and I think it’s fucking stupid that the thread was closed and that this has to be taken to the Pit. I don’t know what it is that Der Trihs has over the Mods, or if it’s something else involved here, but it’s obvious that the fix is in on this. I’ve never had an issue with board moderation around here, and always gone out of my way to be courteous to the Mods (well, as much as an irascible old curmudgeon like myself can be) and to honor their position when they made a decision on something, but I think they have white washed on this issue long enough.

Why this couldn’t have continued to be discussed in the ATMB thread is beyond me, but as requested the issue is taken to the Pit for anyone who wants to weigh in either flaming me, flaming the Mods or flaming DT…or any combination of the above. Or, hell, flame someone else if you like.

I am pretty sure, dude, that she meant the hijack argle-bargle about Randites, etc.

Since it was part of the over all discussion and not a hijack, if she DID mean that then she should have been more specific.

I’m not seeing it, to be honest. The thread was about DT…I was discussing DT. The other poster replying to me was discussing what s/he felt were similar instances of other people doing similar flaming in GD. All in the context of what DT had recently said, and within the overall framework of the original OP. How was it a hijack?

Since there are already rules that state that you cannot pit the mods or the moderation, she really didn’t have to.

Catch-22 then. There was no reason to take the discussion we were having to the Pit OTHER than the moderation, which was what was under discussion in the thread that was summarily closed…and which you say (and I believe you, since you were a Mod) is against the rules.

XT, you allowed yourself to be baited by Karius and in doing so unwittingly gave the mods just the excuse they needed to lock the thread and sweep the question under the rug… again.

You were right (I figured you were)…it’s in one of the stickies in this forum. I’ve never seen it, but then I haven’t read the Pit rules before:

The thing about this is, if they are going to close down the threads on such discussions then it’s that catch-22 again. You can’t discuss it here, and they close the thread there…so, no discussion is really possible.

Well, I’m sure the Mods will be along to close this down fairly soon then.

I guess I did, though it seemed an amicable enough discussion though obviously Karrius and I weren’t seeing eye to eye and both of us were equally puzzled by the responses of the other. I didn’t see any heat or any other reason to close the thread, other than, as you said, it was simply an excuse by the Mods to stop the discussion.

Yes, that’s the way I read it, too.

But it’s OK if XT want’s to Pit Karius. He or she was being pretty stupid in that thread. It won’t be the best Pit thread, but I’ve seen worse.

Complaints about moderation go in ATMB, not the Pit.

Complaints about other posters go in the Pit, not ATMB.

I haven’t read through the whole ATMB thread yet, so I’m not going to forward a guess as to what part of the conversation in there Tuba wanted you to take to the Pit, but I can state with some confidence that it was not the part about how the board is moderated, which as pointed out, are not allowed in this forum.
