I listened to every album on Pitchfork’s top 50 of 2005 list (nevermind you how) and I have come to the conclusion that Pitchfork is for pussies. What a load of whiney, angsty, introspective, indie, emo, hipster crap.
I bet if I dropped some uppers in a few random Pabst cans we’d start seeing some improvement by the 06’s list.
Pitchfork Media is geared mainly towards fans of the music you describe. It’s hardly surprising that their list should reflect that. What did you expect to see on there? Brooks and Dunn?
For a Top 50 that’s arguably even whinier than Pitchfork’s, just tune your radio to 88.5 FM, or check out XPN’s list online here. That one is the product of thousands of listener votes.
Hey, cainxinth, a little guidance here: do you want this to be a BBQ Pit-worthy rant, or do you want to have a serious discussion of the music in the list? (I’ll throw it the way of Cafe Society should you choose the latter.)
