Pitting Honeybadger

Here is HBDC showing his “intellectualism” again.

https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-can-we-take-this-latest-trump-nastiness/1024971/22

Just copy and paste, I didn’t want to link to it directly.

So is he a full-on trumper?

Maybe, maybe not, but he has established already that he’s a full-on idiot.

Of course he’s the one person to actually support the insult.

That was one of the dumbest comments I have seen this month. And I’m including some trolls whose posts have been sent to the cornfield.

Sure, it’s OK if Trump insulted a reporter with a juvenile name. Because maybe… just maybe that was actually an unethical reporter. Ya, that’s the ticket! She deserved it!

Honeybadgerman is a complete absolute waste of skin.

I was wondering if that moron had been pitted.

HBDC: I haven’t read the article but it’s cool she was disrespected for possibly being unethical. Even though I don’t know she’s been unethical. And I haven’t read about this case.

Dude needs to put down the bong and spare what few brain cells he has left.

This :up_arrow:

I think that ship has sailed.

I wonder if the noble white knight will come back to justify his pathetic attempt at protecting his despicable hero? If not, I assume it is OK to call him a “piggy” in a non-pit thread. He would find it refreshing to disrespect him due to his unethical (at least moronic) posting practices?

I once read a study that said, “Placebo effects can be effective even when the person KNOWS it is a placebo, because that’s how the brain works.”

How rigorous/peer reviewed/replicable the study was, I have no idea. But it immediately made sense to me, for the simple reason that my parents - both scientifically-oriented; a nurse and a veterinary school dropout who worked in pharmaceuticals - swore by a “placebo” effect/old wive’s tale remedy for sore throats: tie a rag (not too tight) around your neck.

They said, “this has no scientific basis, it’s purely psychological. But it’s comforting. It helps. Mind over matter.”

It’s always worked for me - as a placebo, definitely.

Whoa. HBDC is Speaker Mike Johnson! Wait, am I allowed to doxx people here?

The stereotype of the college sophomore taking a bong hit and believing their own inanities represent deep thoughts was supposed to be just that - a stereotype. Not an actual blueprint to live by or meant to resemble, except as caricature, any actual human being

I find it remarkably fascinating that HBDC engages and probably touts the benefits of recreational drug use yet is paradoxically (and inadvertently?) among the biggest arguments against

I dare him to try DMT; that is so far from recreational (it did get the moniker "the businessman’s drug in the 70s because it could be done in lunch hour… but man, that 40 minute experience needs several hours recovery).

It is properly scary. It is second only to hyperventilating chloroform (IMHO) in really scary out of body experience.

I would, if it was not against board rules, wager the good friend has not ventured beyond alcohol and tobacco.

I never really looked at his avatar, but once I zoomed it, it all made sense.

Not judging this case because I don’t know the details involved, but if HoneybadgerDC has posted in unethical ways, it is refreshing to see him being disrespected in this thread.

Unfortunately I don’t think that it is, because otherwise the perfect response to his post would have been a chorus of “Quiet, Piggy” followed by a hundred people putting him on ignore at once.

Piggy’s got the conch bong.

And that’s how I’d make Lord of the Flies a better book with one simple change.

Eta: when I first made the post Discord removed the crossing out from “conch”, and I agree with this change. Piggy’s got the bong he made out of a conch.

For fairness’s sake, here’s their retraction:

“only one willing to carry the ball”?

Geez, even his retractions are idiotic

My first thought was, what does he mean by that?

My second (and better) thought was, I don’t really care. What an idiot.

I was going to reply to that and say, no, he isn’t carrying the ball. He claimed it, it’s his, and he’s taking it with him. You’ll have to pry it from his dead, cold, tiny hands.

But I didn’t want to further hijack the thread so I deleted my reply before submitting it.
