Pitting iiandyiiii

This would only be the case if they were, in fact, trolls and also we were unaware that they were.
I don’t personally think they’re trolls as I would define the term, I think they’re* pretty sincere proselytising racists*.
We’re well aware that they’re sincere proselytising racists, It’s not like they hide it very well.

The alternative isn’t a GD free of race realist threads, it’s a GD peppered with unanswered race realist threads. Which would look soooo much better on our resume (he said sarcastically)

If you don’t want any race realist threads in GD, take it up with the mods. Maybe they’ll listen to you, they certainly haven’t listened to anyone else about it.

so, what are the excuses from the typical suspects for this: Bernie Sanders supporters stage walkout, protest outside convention - CBS News

Burning American and Israeli flags??

Flag burning is a traditional form of protest and is not illegal.

It certainly is not illegal to burn a foreign flag.

its not illegal but its anti-Semitism to burn a flag of a Israel out of the blue at this protect, a country which had nothing to do with the primary outcome. I was expected iiandyiiii to make the excuse/deflection tho.

And anti-Israelism and anti-Americanism go hand in hand a lot: at many anti-war protests in Europe last decade, the two flags were burned together. Coincidence?

I oppose burning Israeli flags, even as everyone has the right to burn it or any flag.

Some pro-Bernie protesters are assholes, and some are anti-Semitic. I see no reason to believe that more than a small number are anti-Semitic.

It is pretty!

It may not make sense in your tiny mind, but to intelligent people, it is entirely possible to oppose the actions of the state of Israel, and even be really really unhappy with them, without it having anything at all to do with anti-semitism.

Substitute “fringe” for “typical.” Yes, the left has its share of embarrassing assholes too. It doesn’t mean their views are typical of all liberals, any more than the KKK is typical of all conservatives. Hmmm, bad example, since Donald Trump waffled on denouncing David Duke. Duke thinks now that Trump will back him for his Senate run.

Apropos of nothing, does anybody remember the doper Liberal, who used to be Libertarian? He said he requested the name change because he identified more with Classical liberalism. He eventually got the ban bat, possibly because he was actually trolling via lies of omission, secretly hoping other dopers would think his whackadoos were representative of all liberal thinking.

That description does sound like a whackadoo conspiracy theory in and of itself, come to think of it. Chimera’s label of the OP as Angry Right Winger Claiming To Be Liberal #43,217 reminded me of Liberal.

Even though you are clearly a cad, a bounder and a nogoodnik, I agree with all this.

Liberal isn’t banned. He just stopped posting here.

Right. He said he was leaving the board in order to write a book (about Jesus, IIRC). I haven’t heard if anything became of that.

Yes, very true. Along these lines, it is possible to be a proud American while criticizing some of the government’s actions and policies. It’s encouraged actually. I expect the OP’s head will now begin rotating while he shrieks his outrage in tongues.

And this is where the disconnect is for me. A subset of ultra-right American Conservatives (not just DerekMichaels00) feel it is acceptable to castigate, demean, disparage, lie about, and threaten to destroy US governmental institutions and even the President of their own country. However, these same people go into apoplectic fits if anyone deigns to even question a policy enacted or act committed by Israeli leaders. Netanyahu is not the prime minister, honorary or otherwise, of the US, but you wouldn’t know it by all the fawning over him by American Conservatives. Where is their vaunted patriotism?

Derek – did you watch Khizr Khan’s speech about his love of America and his son’s sacrifice for the country? Do you see why it’s wrong to prejudge someone for their religion?

I have said time and again that I’m against ID cards and special surveillance for people already here. That is very different than people who are NOT ALREADY HERE. Radical Islam has spread far and hard since the time the guy’s father came to the US; hence why immigration of them today is very different than decades ago. And yes, I do fear for people like myself.

I’m not asking you about others, I’m asking about Khizr Khan. Do you have any problem with him speaking at the DNC? Do you have any problem with what he said? I think his speech was great, and his criticism of Trump was very sharp.

if his wife had shown the symbol of integration (not wearing the hijab), I’d have liked it. As well as disavowing all Islam-based hatred of Israel. I’m tired of a considerable portion of Muslims who call themselves Americans, not integrating both in terms of clothing and worldview.

Oh jesus fucking christ, dude. My wife is not a Muslim, but she wears a scarf on her head sometimes to work, and so do other non-Muslim women in her office, and plenty of other non-Muslim women around the country. What the fuck is wrong with a fucking scarf?

It really is pathetic if a fucking scarf detracts from a magnificent and patriotic speech by the father of a hero. Do you not get how ridiculous that is?

By the same logic we should deport the Amish. They’ve been refusing to assimilate for centuries. Fucking un-Americans.

There’s nothing unAmerican about scarves on heads. American women have been wrapping up their heads sometimes, whether for fashion, for warmth, or because they don’t have the goddamn time to do their hair, since the beginning of the fucking country.
