When the law says emotional distress, and when you say emotional trauma, I assume we’re talking about trauma disorders. Not mere stress. The idea of a politician obtaining a restraining order and court damages just because someone is stressing them out is ridiculous, even if it is outright racism.

If a person talks about being trauma, mental trauma, either it’s overwhelming stress that prevents them from functioning (a disorder) or it isn’t. I’m not aware of a middle ground.

Maybe this is something I can respond to? I rarely find conservative arguments here for me to argue against. Feel free to point them out to me. The ones I do find are on topics I have little to no opinion on - such as transgender issues or critical race theory. There was within my memory some question about vaccine efficiency I tried to put down in QZ if you can even consider that conservative.
I’ve clashed with UltraVires a couple times, and back when HurricaneDitka was a member I would often find myself opposing him in debate, but defending him in ATMB. It is left to the reader’s judgement whether either of these posters can be considered to lie on the “conservative” side.

I rarely step into this aspect of pit threads, but this isn’t the kind of statement that I would make without it leading me to some serious introspection.

And the implication that merely being traumatized is “on you” (the person traumatized) is rank victim blaming. I wonder how well your conversation would go with special forces operators who deal with the lingering effects of trauma … but can still get out of bed each day.
