I had a friend who kept getting pulled over because he owned something that looked like a “drug dealer’s car” back in the early 90s, always on pretexts like rolling a stop or not signaling a lane change or whatever they could come up with, but never once did he actually get cited. They just wanted to check up on him and see what’s up. It was a bit of a running joke with us at how often it was happening. He got rid of the car a couple months later and, mysteriously, his problems of getting pulled over every week disappeared.

Maybe it really had been a drug dealer’s car:

We noticed one particular vehicle coming around, parking for a short time, then driving off. One day, we reported this to the police – who also are the de facto security force for our complex.

They already knew about the vehicle; it belongs to a drug dealer. That very recognizable vehicle hasn’t been around for a long time so either the driver got busted or he finally figured out that he should switch rides.

If anyone bought that car, they’d have the same trouble until they did something about its looks or sold it on.
