Not to hijack this too much (maybe this deserves a Cafe Society thread) but I wonder if they get those things wrong on purpose because they don’t want to accurately show people how to commit crimes like money laundering and meth production.
Then again, one of the industrial hygienists that I used to work with would teach classes on meth production specifically to show law enforcement what to look for, and also to warn IH folks and others who deal with hazardous cleanups exactly what to watch out for if you are tasked with cleaning up a meth lab. Which if you can imagine is really dangerous. So it’s not like this stuff is extremely secret. He even told me I could sit in on a class if I wanted to. (I declined though; I’ve never been a big fan of chemistry.)
