Trump and his MAGA army hate minority groups, and that includes YOU idiots named in the thread title. They want to get rid of federally funded pre-kindergarten, which strongly aids the poorer minority parents in getting their kids into a good environment and off to a good start. You have elected a force that wants to attack diversity, education, immigration, and minority rights.
You were instrumental in electing Trump either by not voting at all or for actually voting for him! You chose him over an educated, intelligent, compassionate human being, a Black sister who represents a group that champions all of the things that MAGA deplores.
Now you will get what you wished for, and I can only ardently hope that it puts face down in the dirt, dirt that is soaked in your tears and regrets. I pit you. I spit on you.
Sure, has to be their fault Trump was re-elected. The vast majority of Trump voters who don’t fit that category couldn’t have had anything to do with it.
As far as I can tell a lot of the people voted for Trump are among the groups he’ll screw over or target for persecution. And they’ll be blindsided when the leopards eat their face, again.
Which is basically everyone. Donald Trump only gives a shit about Donald Trump; he’ll happily throw his relatives under the proverbial bus if necessary. Anyone else seeing a benefit from his administrations is purely coincidental.
First off, I despise Trump as much as anyone else.
That being said, the problem with the “traitor” label is - it again assumes that nonwhite voters are obligated to vote Democratic, kind of like Biden’s “If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black” comment. As if the default nonwhite vote must go to the Ds, like the Ds have a contract awarding them such votes and any voting for Trump is a breach of contract.
Black voters are hit just as badly by inflation, pocketbook issues, can be socially conservative or disgruntled with identity politics as much as anyone else. You can argue that Trump would make the economy worse, and I fully agree. But the Ds are not entitled to their vote by contract, nor is it “treason” for them to vote R. By this logic, is it “treason” if, say, white Baptists in the South vote for Kamala instead of Trump?
There even tends to be this 'splaining by some white progressives to nonwhite voters - not sure if it could be called whitesplaining or whatnot - that has an attitude of “We know better than you what is good for you.”
Rather than getting sidetracked by a trivial argument about semantics, I’ll just say that, in the end, a person is what he votes for. It indicates an acceptance of who and what that person is and of what he intends to do. That’s why I unfriended on line and distanced myself IRL from anyone who I know supports him. To me, they are spiritually insufficient as human beings. What others think and do is up to them.
In the end, history will be the judge. In twenty years, the minorities that have supported Trump will see the results of their actions. I think they will sorely regret them. Maybe they won’t. Time will tell.
No; it’s just suicidally stupid. I wouldn’t have used that particular word, because they stabbed themselves in the back along with the rest of the black population. It is however massively self destructive; like Jews voting for Hitler.
The situation reminds me of the brexit vote here in the UK.
Many editorials went out on how we should have taken voter’s misapprehensions based on disinformation and ignorance seriously. But almost immediately, the people that promulgated the lies admitted they weren’t true, and brexit voters were experiencing buyer’s remorse. Brits living on the continent were stunned stunned to find they no longer had the right to stay.
Of course, this will all take longer in this case; we have to wait a couple months for Trump to take power, and his acolytes will never admit anything was a lie. But the buyer’s remorse will be real. In the meantime I don’t think the right approach for Democrats is to act as though “migrant crime wave” and “no FEMA support after the hurricane” were legitimate.
Point of information: Many of the Brits living on the Continent full-time weren’t eligible to vote in the referendum, then got massively screwed by the result. But there were certainly a lot of those who had second homes there that they’ve had to sell, that voted for Brexit because they’re fucking idiots…
But they’ll place the blame elsewhere, as they always do.
