You’re omitting scenario three: People whose political beliefs are identical to those of Joe Biden or John Fetterman being accused of being secret Republican trolls because they’re not left-wing enough, and then dogpiled/warned/banned because we’ve decided to take such a principled and justified stand against secret Republican trolls for their horrible bigotry. Don’t like it? Well maybe you shouldn’t have dedicated your life to cruelty and bigotry, which we know you’ve done because you’re a secret Republican troll.

There are certain issues where this place is an echo chamber for sure. I do realize that facts are facts and should be the same for everyone, but it goes well beyond that to the point that you can’t even ask questions related to some things or you will be jumped on.
Maybe the worst possible statement to be followed by the word “but”.
Again, cites probably not in play here, but the only time I’ve ever seen question-askers get jumped on is when their questions are framed in a way that’s either disengenuous or coming from a place that is so indisputably freaking wrong / offensive, that, well, you’re so obviously ‘asking for it’?
The funny thing is, the few times I’ve seen this board mentioned elsewhere it’s been characterized as being too willing to allow rightwings to post their falsehoods.

Shodan was banned for misogynist insults after repeatedly being cautioned against using them. He could have expressed exactly the same political views without the misogynist slurs and remained on the board. He chose not to. It was specifically his uncivil behavior that got him banned.

I am banned from talking about the topic I am referring to but I will give you a very typical example. If I am in a normal conversation with someone, I like to let them know where my perspective is coming from so they can address, it from that perspective. It doesn’t mean I am claiming anything. It doesn’t mean I am stating any facts, giving someone your perspective is a very helpful way of moving a conversation forward but it doesn’t work like that here.
So if I got this right, before making your assertion, you like to provide a sort of preamble of your current mindset prior to making said assertion?

Thet is bullshit! If I say my perspective is based on these three factors while acknowledging at the same time that there might be more factors I am not aware of that need to be considered. It would not qualify as a claim.

When I form an opinion it is always based on various factors, I also know my opinion is subject to change if different or additional facts are given to me. I always think it is helpful when a person tells me why he or she feels a certain way about something. It certainly doesn’t warrant an attack.
