According to Ain’t It Cool News PJ & Crew’s next movie, after Kong, is going to be The Lovely Bones (book by Alice Sebold).

Dang! The Hobbit is put on hold even longer. Ian Holm (and probably Ian McKellen) will be too old to be cast, if and when The Hobbit is ever made. I can’t see anybody else playing Bilbo or Gandalf. If Ian Holm and Ian McKellen are not cast, I don’t even want to see it!

I respect PJ & Crew’s decision to switch gears and make a small, character-driven story, but can’t they wait until AFTER The Hobbit? :wink:

The problem is The Hobbit is tied up in a legal morass. (IIRC correctly, New Line has the rights to make it, but Universal has the rights to distribute it).

PJ has said he’d be willing to make the Hobbit. But he isn’t going to make it until the rights issue is cleared up.

Aftre LOTR I figured he’d want to amke a movie with 2 characters and 1 set, but that was before someone dumped a truckload of money into his driveway to make his dream movie…

IMO The Hobbit can never improve on LotR so the more time for LotR to exit the collective consciousness the better.

So when’s he going to do a remake of his earlier movie, “Meet the Feebles”? I’d love to see that movie redone, with a bigger budget. :slight_smile:

Ian Holm is already too old. He would never have been cast.
