49/50, with an average error of one mile. My boo-boo was Arkansas, which, while I damn sure know where it is relative to the rest of my world (“relative” being a key word) I dropped 50 miles off location with nothing else there yet to hook it on.
47/50 94% Avg Error 12 miles. I could not have done that well if I hadn’t gotten the dinky states last!
2nd time: 46/50 92% Avg Error 13 miles. Missed Colorado with a big empty hole in the middle by 353 miles! Oops! This one was much more realistic getting the dinky states and center ones first. Ouch.
Forget it…I’m doing that again. Last time I took one 'o those I got somewhere in the mid-to-high 20’s. I’m fine along the coasts, and decent with the Great Lakes region, but flyover country just blends together.
100%, 0 miles, 196 seconds. I fully admit the states came in a pretty “easy” order though.
90%, average error of 50 miles. But I am innebreated
After a second try I got 98% with a 1 mile error thing in 377 seconds while preoccupied. The only state that screwed me over was Kansas, and I was off by less then 20 miles. Damn bloody Kansas.
It’s OK. Wyoming doesnt really exist. Awell know fact on either coast.
47/50 - 14 miles
I LOVE AMERICA!
As if that was ever in doubt.
48/50, average error 3 miles. And I started with Oklahoma, then Iowa. Not bad for an East-coaster, man.
Cool site.
I got 44/50. Those little NE states killed me!
48/50, average error 5 miles.
Idaho and Colorado tripped me up a bit right at the beginning.
Great site, thanks!
47 out of 50, 5 miles avg error.
Nevada, South Dakota & Kansas were my misses - no reference points when they popped up…
Holy crap, for an added challenge, try the Advanced mode, where you can only see the state that you’re currently placing.
On Advanced, I got 38 out of 50, 23 mile avg error. Hard stuff!
There are some other interesting games under ‘Web Games’ if you go to the main website.
47 out of 50, average error 10 miles. As I’m sure is the case with many here, I can get a 100% on a test involving naming the states as shown on a map, but when it considers five miles an “error” when you’re trying to place Colorado on an unmarked map, you ain’t getting a hundred.
Yup. Much. Harder. 32/50 49 miles avg error. Now I’m depressed.
&%#@%@!!! West Virginia!!!...
Uh, the shape I mean…
Score: 86%, Average error: 20 miles .
On Advanced, 37/50, average error 21 miles.
To all those who are getting more than 90% (show-offs) go to http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/web_games.htm and click on the Advanced version. I got 29/50, avg 73 miles.
39/50 at an average of 22 miles on advanced.
44/50 on Intermediate, average error of 21 miles. Some of the ones I missed early (Missouri and Iowa especially) were pretty damn close.
