My guess is he’ll succumb to an as yet unidentified condition: BigTardian Atrophy Through Sadistic, Heartless Internet Trashtalk (BATSHIT).
As you know, every time someone is mean to him in a post, it shaves another month or two off his life. If he keeps starting Pit threads, I imagine he’ll eventually waste away until he is too weak to type, and will be found slumped over his keyboard, with printouts of SDMB posts plastered all over his bedroom walls with hand-scrawled dates 60 days after the date of each post, indicating when he will reply to these soul-crushing assaults.
Wow, my heart’s all aflutter. I feel like one one the the big kids now, getting pitted and all.
Of course that’s tempered a bit seeing how it was by BigT.
He has the power of scolding like a bitter fishwife that magically moulds reality to his addle-pated delusions, all the better for telling people off with.
Plus, Opal’s blog mentions a recent suicide attempt just a few months ago. We can only speculate of course, but suicide seems to be at least a reasonable hypothesis.
Suicide is intentional by definition. If it’s unintentional it’s called an accident. Not that I am taking a position on whether or not Opal committed suicide, and I reserve the right to call those of you who are a bunch of nosy assholes.
When my step-brother died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, the police said that it would be ruled a suicide whether it was intentional or an accident. He didn’t leave a note and it probably was intentional. His Mom believes that it wasn’t intentional and that it was, at worst, an impulsive act related to his mental illness, which in his case was depression.
Personally, I think it’s good enough as it is. If the links were there, the temptation to check those incidents out for a good wallow would be waaay too easy to succumb to.
So, thanks Sierra Indigo! By not pandering to my native indolence, you’re improving my moral fiber!
Oh my god, can we just shut up? Opal’s dead, she’s gone, and ok maybe some people are snarking about her. What makes you think yet another thread to comment on the comments is going to make it any better? Can we just let it go? Eventually Opalcat will mostly fade in the memories of everyone except the people who really cared about her. But good gods…do we have to keep raking the coals up over and over again?
