While on a 1 day layover in Key West from a Carnival Cruise, My wife and I visited a Free planetarium near the trolly bus.
We learned the reason planets do not run into each other ALL THE TIME is God keeps them from doing so. There were a bunch of other ID stuff in the narative but this one stuck out to me as so absurd as to make me get up in the dark and find the exit door.
They should put up a warning sign of some kind. Maybe " Free Creation Planetarim".
I was thinking recently about a tactic for calling attention to nonsense, political or otherwise - showing up en masse and laughing.
That might work really well at a place like this. Get a group of friends together, behave very politely and friendly, but react to every nonsensical suggestion with good-hearted laughter. Not in a sneering, sarcastic manner, but as if you were watching a stand-up comedian or really funny movie.
I’d like to see that tried at a planetarium like that, or a Rick Santorum speech.
Damn, Jesus is one huge mother–
(Shut your mouth)
But I’m talkin’ about Jesus
(Then we can dig it)
He’s a complicated man, but no one understands him but the good folk at Key West Nature Theatre & Planetarium
Nature Theater
See God’s creation in the Florida Keys! Twenty minutes of footage projected on three large screens. ‘It’s like snorkeling without getting wet.’
It’s like learning without all the critical thinking!
Teach me to go without getting a review first. There were only 3 people in it when I was there. The guy running the place stopped me as I left and we had a short conversation that ended with him telling me that “Science take a lot more faith than God does”.:smack:
Hahah! I think I would have stayed anyway though. Planetariums are great places to sit in a comfy air-conditioned recliner and look up at some pretty stars. It’s the ultimate relaxing, meditative environment. If I ever have a billion dollars, I’d like to install a mini-planetarium room (with seats for up to 20 or so people) in my house.
