Plaxico ,anybody know anything

I saw 2 reports. One says Plaxico shot himself in the leg accidently . It said nothing about where it happened. Now I saw on ESPN that it was in a bar. He was not going to play tomorrow because of a hamstring.
Does anyone know anything for sure. How badly hurt.? How did it happen?

Saw a report that it was relatively minor. Not life threatenting, no bone or artery hit. Already released from the hospital. Police investigation pending.

New details: He had an expired gun permit from Florida, not recognized in New York, could face criminal charges, and league disciplinary action.

It seems muddy. He is going to kill his career if he does not straighten up.

Sal Paolantonio was just on ESPN saying that Giants LB Antonio Pierce, who was with Plax at the time of the shooting, could be in a spot of bother because he took the gun and tried to hide it somewhere in New Jersey (no link just yet).

The ESPN report featured a host of his teammates, etc., going on about how “our primary concern at this time is the health and well-being of our friend, blahblahblah…” Just once, I wish one of them would say, “Is he going to be all right? Good. Now, what in the hell was he thinking?! Yeah, going out clubbing is real good for that injured hamstring. I guess we’re just lucky the moron didn’t manage to maim or kill anybody else! Frikkin’ Genius!”

Packin’ heat while out clubbing. What could possibly go wrong with that? Why is it so goddamned hard for some people to stay out of trouble?

Yet another NFL meltdown. He is soon gonna rank up there with TO and Ocho Cinco as over-rated nuts.

Is anyone else profoundly un-shocked that this story is about Plaxico? That boy jest ain’t right in the head. Seen it ever since he was playing for Michigan State.

What is it about wide receivers anyway? Between Plaxico, those two, Keyshawn “Gimme the damn ball!” Johnson, Michael Irvin, etc. etc. WR is definitely the most cracked position.

In fairness, T.O. has never had any off-field incidents like this (except maybe for the possible suicide attempt, but that wasn’t a crime). And this is coming from an Eagles fan, who absolutely hates him and the Cowboys.

Also, my headline was the one that got greenlit yesterday on Fark for the Plax story… so yeeeah bitches.

I submitted that story with a better headline.

Man, the info that came out in the pregame coverage - this guy is fucked.

In NY it is a mandatory 3 1/2 year prison sentence if you violate the concealed weapons law.

The Giants bring the police in at the beginning of every season to explain. The cops say: If you have weapons, we will hold them for you. But give them to us now.

The Giant can now - and probably will - go after his signing bonus. This is some big money.

Holy fuck this guy is some special kind of stupid.

Huge powerful athletes can not go out without carrying a gun. Must be a dangerous world they inhabit.

That’s probably how they feel about it, yes.

Seriously. These guys are the biggest dipshits this side of the NBA.

Why don’t MLB players have this problem?

Oh, really? Y’know, he could’ve faced the death penalty if successful!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Joe

At least he finally beat a safety!

They get robbed in bars?

“Say, Plaxico, is that a gun in your pocket or are you just…oh, I see. Never mind.”

As my astute coworker observed, “You know the only thing worse than shooting yourself with your own gun? Going to jail for it.”

I pulled the property tax report on his house. I would gladly shot myself in the leg if it would mean I could afford his house and his property taxes.

Burress was being stupid and I’m not defending him. I was responding to your comment about athletes feeling unsafe. Apparently they do. And it’s not like athletes are never crime victims just because they’re big and tough looking. Somebody attacked, beat and robbed Javon Walker in the offseason, for example.
