So if a game is being held anywhere other than the SDMB we can’t inform the players who play here of it? I thought we were all part of a community? These games you moderates play with what us posters are and are not allowed to do is getting old. When we can host games and where we should host them shouldn’t be up to you. It should be driven by demand.
I have enough interest to start my game on GiraffeBoards without invited players from here, but because I believe we are a community I extended the info to this board in case anyone wanted to play.
I notice that my signups thread for the minigame being held on idlemafia.com wasn’t closed or edited… is there something I don’t know that would cause the situation to be “not cool” when it pertains to Giraffeboards and not idlemafia?
We advertise on Giraffe, Facebook, DoMeBo, Idlemafia, etc. for games being hosted here all the time. I really don’t see how doing the same in reverse is “not cool”.
Oh… and if there is a real issue at heart here, I would appreciate at least a PM explaining how what I did was “not cool” Tuba… just closing my thread and disabling the link was disrepectful.
We’re discussing. Seems that I was not aware of policy re Mafia games. None of the staff was except for the people who spend the most time here. We’re clarifying.
Not all of us were aware that games get advertised here that don’t necessarily start here – games move to other places, etc. It’s a situation that is unique to this forum and nowhere else on the SDMB.
Now we know. I’m letting all the other moderators know as well so we don’t make this mistake again. If you’re offended I’m sorry – that was not my intention.

Woah. Unless you’re getting a ton of hate mail that we can’t see, I don’t see where anyone was offended. paulwhoisaghost accepted your first explanation with a smiley and all I did was add a link in case anyone was confused.
I appreciate it Tuba. I can understand where the confusion came from. I’m not offended, was a little when the thread was closed and I didn’t know why… but now I know and all is well.
