Playing Now: The Darjeeling Limited

I’m a big fan of Wes Anderson, but I’m not sure what to think about Darjeeling. It felt to me the most mellow and understated of his films, lacking the frenetic interpersonal energy of all the previous work. The humor suffered as a result. And while as a meditation on the nature of grief I think it followed naturally from Royal Ts and Zissou, something was missing for me. Maybe I just need to see it again, in the meantime 1.5 thumbs up.

I thought Adrien Brody fit well with the rest of the usual Anderson ensemble, but I wonder why Luke Wilson wasn’t there.

Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
