Trump issues an executive order to round up all the dwarves. The newly created Dwarf Wrangling Force (formed from the scattered remnants of the FBI, the National Park Service, and the FDA) start rounding up dwarves. Hey, it’s a paycheck.
Someone says, “Hey! That’s a violation of the Pro-Dwarf Act of 1906!”
Trump says, “Fuck you, sue me!”
So they sue.
And Trump-friendly courts drag their feet. They allow endless delays, demanding ever more specific complaints from the pro-dwarf defence council. Eventually (maybe two years later?) they rule in Trump’s favor. It gets appealed, and several more years gets wasted, and eventually it ends up in the Supreme Court.
The dwarves have been in detainment camps in the middle of Ne-VAH-DUH this whole time.
Okay, fine, the Supreme court rules against Trump, and orders the immediate release of every dwarf.
Trump: “Oh, I’m sorry, we seem to have lost track of where they all are, like a bunch of migrant children separated from their families, I blame the Democrats.”
Many more years of shenanigans ensue. The dwarves continue to languish somewhere.
Since then, the SCOTUS has basically given him immunity from anything he does in office. He has appointed three of those justices (and there’s a rumor that Thomas may retire/resign soon, which would give Trump a 4th appointment).
He’s going to have a House and Senate that are both republican majorities.
There’s no reason to believe that anything he tried to do would be stopped by anyone.
Yeah, if they’re Japanese dwarves, that just makes it worse!
But yes, the internment of the Japanese is exactly the sort of thing that can happen. Convince the people doing the actual work that it needs to be done, and the act will happen. Then it becomes an argument in the courts, and if Trump is actually good at anything, it’s tying courts up in knots.
TL;DR. Monarchy is dependent upon respect for the idea that the ruler’s son inherited his superior genes and divine blessing, something which virtually nobody outside of North Korea believes in anymore. Dictators occasionally bequeath their rule to a son but even that’s infrequent and a third generation is nearly unheard of.
You remember. That time he had all Democrats killed or deported and no one stopped him. Congress had passed that law and SCOTUS upheld it. And so Democrats were either executed or sent to Chad. And everyone on this board was like “OMG, Trump can do anything he wants and no one will stop him.” And then only Republicans were left.
And everybody cheered.
Nobody is saying he’ll be allowed to disregard the Constitution legally. What people are saying is that he will break laws, including the Constitution, and he will not be arrested or punished or impeached or suffer any other significant consequences for doing it.
Which says a lot about Merrick Garland. Like I’ve said elsewhere, Trump was allowed to run because the Feds refused to charge him under 18 USC 2838. Oh the Senate were at fault too for acquitting him the second time but a Democratic-run DOJ also failed.
That is quite the straw man you’ve got there. Care to argue against what people are actually saying and drop this “Thanos” bullshit you are clinging to for dear life?
When you’re trying to defend the good character of somebody who has literally bragged about how he could get away with rape and murder, I guess you have to draw the line at genocide.
