I’m a big Bond fan. One thing that has confused me is the many different names which seem to have some sort of registered trademary or copyright on the character. To wit:
Who is Danjaq, Ltd? What do they do?
Who is EON productions? Are they just responsible for putting together the films?
Pinewood Studios - is that just the studio where much Bond action is filmed? Do they do anything but Bond movies?
Do Ian Fleming’s heirs still have any stake in Bond? How about the Broccoli family?
I was gonna post something about Fleming having the rights to all original Bond works except for Casino Royale. I wasn’t sure about that and while looking for a cite, I came across Ian Fleming Publications

Pinewood is a movie studio in Britain where most of the Bond movies were filmed, but other movies have been made there.
As I understand it, EON Productions is owned by the Broccoli family and run by Cubby’s heirs, his daughter Barbara and stepson Michael Wilson.

Any feature production can use Pinewood. It has the largest enclosed soundstage in the world, built expressly for the Bond series and now known as the 007 Soundstage.
OK, that answers most of my questions, except, what’s Danjaq? The link about Broccoli makes it sound like it’s the same as EON, but in that case, why are there two? Is one a British company and the other American?
