I think most people simply place their own private sanctions on others without needing a general consesus on whom to send to Coventry. I can think of a few dopers I ignore.
But in the case of obvious trolls like BronzeLion, the vast majority of people do look, laugh and leave. Occasionally it’s fun to point and make fun, but I think most people are aware that this defeats the object. Sometimes it’s just hard not to let the instinct to poke stupid people with pointy sticks take over.
