“anyrose” is a play on my initials and last name
I’d like to know where you came up with yours
especially those of you with really bizarre ones

Well… I’m Johnny, and I joined when I lived in L.A.
I’m a large hairy gay man who lives in the swamps of south GA.
They aren’t females, and you aren’t the one who makes love to them…
Anyone bring the rum?
I’m lookin’ for love a la Eddie Murphy a la Buckwheat.
Oh, a bear! :smack: I’d always taken it more literally.
:smack: I meant to post that in reply to
in I’m new here. Let the hazing commence. Damn.
Ah well, Scott Plaid is almost my real name, and I saw someone else, somewhere else using it, so I swiped it. Wasn’t there a thread about this a few weeks back?
Some people gave me the nickname “Loopy” a long time ago, and sometimes it got turned into the incredibly annoying “Loopydude”. I hate my name, and only used it because it was unique, easy to remember, and I thought I could change it willy-nilly when I first signed on. I think I’m more-or-less stuck with it now.
Anyhow, the nickname was given because:
A) I’m good a tying certain knots.
OR
B) I occasionally exhibit symptoms of psychosis.
OR
C) Both.
I’ll leave it up to you to decide.
About twelve years ago I was trying to think of a good screen name…after sitting there for about 10 minutes staring at the screen “FlyingCowOfDoom” came rocketing into my head. Call it divine inspiration or downright insanity, but that’s what happened. Used the name ever since.

Mine is an out of print Who album that contained their early hits, many of which had never been released on LP. It is also the only album that has the 3:49 minute studio version of the song* Magic Bus*, not the shorter, inferior version.
Can you guess Who my favorite band is?
Because I am the bus guy. I run the transportation department for a large school district.
Here’s the last thread on the subject. My name’s changed since then, but any fan of poetry knows the reference.
I am a thing with feathers that perches in the soul.
CJ is my real-life nickname, and I have a certain relentless, terrier-like tenacity. At the time I chose it, too, I had a tendency to get involved in some rather hard-fought religious debates in which I insisted that it was possible to be a good Christian and yet have friends who were Wiccans, etc. without trying to convert them. Siege seemed to suit me at the time, even if it did take a while for me to get the hang of not misspelling it, and it still does.

Crotalus is the genus name of most rattlesnakes. I like rattlesnakes.
ah - that was before I started posting in earnest
even tho I joined almost a year ago, it wasn’t until a friend sent me the link to a MPSIMS thread about getting old(er) (the link for which I cannot find - it’s been inactive for several weeks) that I started insinuating myself into these boards
You mean you thought I was a for real bear even after meeting me? Hmm… maybe I do need to trim the beard a bit then.
I had been reading Straight Dope for a while and using it as a reference.
One day I looked in the dark closet with all the noise coming out of it and I discover the board.
I had just read something by Cecil were he complained in jest, doesn’t anyone use their real names anymore and I decided to keep my user name boring. Initials and last name.
Yours truly,
Jim Franchi
It’s an anagram of my real name. Plus it sounds quite bad-ass.
Okay, I give up WHO is your favorite band?
Yes
