Please give me ideas for using up a 12 pound ham

I opened the thread to suggest split pea soup, but jsgoddess beat me to it.

A thick slab o’ham on top of a cheeseburger is surprisingly tasty.

Oh. my. gosh. I wonder if they will let me leave work early to go home and try this? Emergency! Hot ham sandwich, STAT!
I was going to suggest hash, until I remember that I always confuse corned beef with a form of pig (because they’re both pink, of course). Apparently there are ham versions though:

Can someone tell me how to make a cheese sauce? I’m clueless.

It’s like white sauce (butter, flour, milk) and add cheese:

It may take a little while to thicken. Wait till you’ve followed the instructions before panicking and adding more flour. I’ve learned this lesson the hard way.

Add them to scrambled eggs for a fabulous breakfast.

Add to Stove Top cornbread stuffing. You can add some creamed corn and milk to the whole thing for a tasty casserole.

Recipe brought to you by my SIL, the corn freak.

Well, you could pour “the wee one” into the jammies, put it in the road, run over it, and leave it there with a huge tire track over it.

Hearing your question out of context could lead to quite an interesting moment.

It’s up for grabs as a highly disturbing sig line!

Mmm. Lots of these suggestions sound delicious.

A big ol’ slab of ham would be excellent right now. Especially with a side of mac n’ cheese. Or stuffing. Or mashed potatos with gravy. And deviled eggs. And sweet tea.

Finely dice the ham and mix it into soft scrambled eggs.

Alternately, put the diced ham and a little shredded swiss inside a folded-over omelette. A few sauteed mushrooms are a yummy addition to this mixture.

Make Japanese-style short grain rice according to the package instructions, mix very finely diced ham with it, and mold it into “musubi”, or Japanese rice balls. Wrap the rice balls in crunchy sheets of nori seaweed.
