I’m trying to identify a film that came out either in the late 90’s or early 2000s. It was about two business men/office workers who decided to that one of them should date and later dump a fellow worker who happens to be deaf. I think it was their way of getting back at women in general. Anyone remember this film?
In the Company of Men, directed by Neil LaBute and starring Aaron Eckhart. A brutal, brutal movie.
Edited to add IMDB link: In the Company of Men (1997) - IMDb
That’s In the Company of Men, with Aaron Eckhert.
Thank you.
I think on the front page of Cafe Society now or in the past two weeks or so, there was a Thread titled, something to the effect of, “Movie that you Loved but will Never Watch Again”. I didn’t participate in that Thread but, if I had, I could have mentioned this film.
I saw In The Company of Men when it first came out.
I thought it was an excellent, excellent film. I was very impressed with it.
I knew right away, however, that I could never watch it again.
BRUTAL
So very difficult to watch.
Never saw it–though (particularly considering the year of release) I’m having no trouble imagining what a “sensitive,” “empowering,” “thought-provoking,” “eye-opening” “triumph” it would have been if it had been about two women doing that to a man…
